It&#8217;s easy to find examples of people doing it every day &#8211; which is great if you&#8217;ve been a runner for some time. But for beginners, running everyday can look more like a chore than anything else. <p>If you are a beginner or just starting out, start slow . You need to give your body time to adjust. For most people, becoming a runner is very different than what their bodies are used to. Show your body how easy it is. Don&#8217;t overexert yourself &#8211; let running become enjoyable; something you WANT to do .</p>
<p>Running 3 to 4 times a weeks is the optimal schedule for beginners. . Start out by doing it 3 times a week, moving towards running every other day as you get better. You can move on the more running reps only once your body has gotten used to running 3 to 4 times weekly .</p>
<p>Having that day of rest is important &#8211; especially for beginners &#8211; for two reasons . First, it gives you time to adjust. Think of it this way &#8211; if you hit yourself with a hammer, it hurts but you&#8217;ll get over it; if you hit yourself with a hammer two times in a row, you&#8217;ll want to throw the hammer away. The day of rest reduces the stress that your body will get from the change of habit.</p>
<p>Physiological rest is the second reason . When you&#8217;re running, your muscles will be working more than usual. Increased stress causes your muscles to adjust, which takes time. The day of rest gives your muscles time to grow and change &#8211; which makes you a better runner over time. That is why the day you DON&#8217;T run is just as important as the day you DO.</p>
<p>The general tip for beginner runners is to UNDER-perform; to run less often, slower, and for a shorter time than you physically can . This does two things. First, it sends a message to your subconscious mind, saying &#8220;see, nothing to it.&#8221; Second, it leaves you wanting more &#8211; you want to run longer, faster, more often. So the next time you go out running, you&#8217;re fulfilling a desire you have, and not doing something you have to do.</p>
<p>At first, this may seem inefficient . But remember &#8211; the goal a beginner runner needs to have initially, is to turn running into a habit. It generally takes about 28 repetitions for something to become a habit &#8211; so it will take a few weeks of &#8220;slow&#8221; runs to get you going. But as you begin doing it habitually, the result will be magical. Eat healthy, but you can give yourself a little leeway if you want a treat, just cut the calories from another part of the day .</p>
<p> Here is another fun fact if you&#8217;re able to keep this in mind  . You don&#8217;t need to cut all 1,000 calories from your diet to maintain the deficit that we are talking about. If you cut 500 calories from your diet and pick up your fat burning processes by building some muscle you will greatly increase your weight loss efforts. Just make sure that you are feeding your muscle and not your fat and you will be happy with your weight loss efforts. <p>So here is how to manage your flexibility training so that you can do the most effective exercises:</p>
<p>1. Increase your core temperature: Doing this is a great way to prevent injury and a great way to increase your range of motion while stretching. Even better, increasing your core temperature will get more nutrients to your working muscles.</p>
<p>2. Get a high quality foam roller: A high quality foam roller will make it very easy to you to dismantle muscle knots which can alter the way your muscles move. And if left unchecked, these knots can form rigid tissues that are very damaging to proper movement.</p>
<p>3. Don&#8217;t forget about old school stretching: Old school stretching isn&#8217;t the end all be all here, but it sure does work for beginners. The key here is to use regular stretching after your warm-up and after your foam rolling. Doing this will keep your body moving the right way.</p>
<p>4. Use new school stretching: The newest type of stretching is called dynamic stretching. The great thing about this type of stretching is that it mimics exercise movements. This in turn makes it very effective for warming up the specific muscles you will be using.</p>
<p>5. Get your muscles as loose as possible before working out: And you want to focus on the muscles that are the tightest. After all, these muscles are the ones that will cause the accelerate degeneration of your joints. And once your joints wear out there is absolutely no way to restore them.</p>
<p>6. Loosen up every day: Your body can tolerate a daily regimen of stretching, unlike weight lifting where you need to rest. So make sure you really increase the frequency of your stretching sessions in order to eliminate your muscular imbalances.</p>

<p>Nuts! &#8211; Because nuts are quite high in fat, dieters tend to avoid nuts. However, research suggests that it isn&#8217;t that straightforward. According to a review study published in the Journal of Nutrition (138:1741S-1745S, 2008), nuts are associated with a lower body fat. Also, when subjects add nuts to their diet, it did NOT cause weight gain The researchers believe that nuts help fill you up (thanks to the fiber) and it&#8217;s possible that not all of the calories from nuts are absorbed into your body. Some research also found that it was easier for people to stick to a diet when nuts were in their meal plan. More research has also shown that subjects lost more fat mass when they substituted almonds for complex carbohydrates in their diet.</p>
<p>Eggs for Breakfast &#8211; Recent research showed that women who ate two eggs instead of a bagel of the same number of calories, for breakfast, lost 65 percent more weight at the end of 8 weeks than the women who ate a bagel for breakfast. Previous research showed that those who ate eggs for breakfast felt fuller for longer than those who had a bagel and cheese meaning that they ate less during the rest of the day. Researcher Dr Nikhil Dhurandhar, an obesity expert, said:&#8221;The resulting decrease in energy consumption lasted for at least 24 hours after the egg breakfast.&#8221;</p>
<p>Eat More Mushrooms! &#8211; In another study, it was found that volunteers who had mushrooms rather than meat in four otherwise identical meals a week shed almost 13lbs (6kg) over five weeks, with one losing 1.5 stone (9.5kg). The study also found that one man and nine women, aged between 25 and 61, shed a total of 127lbs (57.6kg) over the course of the trial. In another recent trial, Margaret Hill, a 25-year-old mother-of-two from Dagenham in Essex, went from 13st 6lbs to 11st 1lb. &#8220;I was amazed by my weight loss &#8211; it&#8217;s the most I have ever managed to lose. I never thought I&#8217;d get my body back after I had my kids so I am over the moon. I look and feel fantastic,&#8221; the Telegraph quoted Hill, as saying. Sarah Schenker, the dietician who led that trial, said: &#8220;Mushrooms make a fantastic low-density meat substitute and can assist dieters without them having to radically change their eating patterns. Mushrooms are also great value for money.</p>
<p>Yes Yes Yes Yoghurt! &#8211; Researchers at the University of Tennessee, United States of America, found that obese adults, who ate three servings of fat-free yoghurt a day as part of a reduced calorie diet, lost 22 per cent more weight and 61 per cent more body fat than those who simply cut calories. Yoghurt eaters also lost 81 per cent more fat in the stomach area than non-yoghurt eaters. They were also about twice as effective at maintaining lean muscle mass. Yoghurt is a perfect accompaniment to many meat based dishes, such as casseroles, chillis and curries and helps to lower the fat density of the meal, thus filling you up for fewer calories</p>
<p>Drink Milk Instead of Fruit Juice &#8211; If you fancy grabbing a drink on the run, try and pick up a milk shake instead of a fruit juice. In a recent study, australian scientists found overweight people who downed about 2 1/2 cups of skim milk in the morning consumed 8.5 percent fewer calories at an all-you-can-eat lunch spread than people who drank the same amount of fruit juice. This is because milk is a drink which contains protein, fruit juices don&#8217;t contain any protein.</p>
<p>Magic Beans! &#8211; Scientists found that people who consumed beans were 23 percent less likely to have large waists than those who said they never ate them. Legumes are top weight loss foods as they are a source of filling protein, without the fat calories of many meat protein foods, such as mince, bacon and lamb. They are also rich in belly filling fibre, keeping you fuller for longer and keeping those between meal cravings at bay.</p>
<p>Eat Your Apples! &#8211; Penn State researchers discovered that people who ate a large apple 15 minutes before lunch took in 187 fewer calories during lunch than those who didn&#8217;t snack beforehand. (The apples had around 128 calories.) They reported feeling fuller afterward, too. Apples are the best craving busters, when you are craving something sweet or just want to grab something , without having to prepare anything. Crunch down a couple of apples and there won&#8217;t be any room for such baddies as chocolate and crisps and you&#8217;ll find the craving has mercifully been banished.</p>
